Job Description
The successful candidate will lead the stock finance team, an area which takes up a significant part of the balance sheet and will therefore have a great deal of exposure and responsibility in the business.
Main duties include:
* Owning the accounting treatment of stock, ensuring reconciliations are clear and delivered on time
* Ensuring appropriate stock accounting policies are in place, e.g. aged stock provisions etc.
* Developing better weekly and periodic reporting to allow for better decision making
* Deep-dive operational process issues to improve control
* Building strong relationships with commercial and operational teams to embed better behaviours and greater understanding
* Driving better commercial decision making
* Completing month end processes
* Leading and developing junior members of the team
Skills & experience required:
* Qualified Accountant with a strong academic record
* Advanced Excel
* Proven track record in a stock related role, in a fast-paced organisation
* Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail
* Commercially astute with clear business acumen
* Proactive and positive approach to problem solving
* Adaptable nature, can work effectively in an evolving environment
* Dedicated to detail, quality and accuracy
* Exceptional communication and relationship building abilities
