Senior Financial Analyst
St Albans, Hertfordshire
£47,000 to £53,000 + Bonus + Benefits


Market leading, innovative and growing business is currently seeking a recently qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA to join this highly commercial FP&A team in a high-profile role that will see the successful candidate progress to Finance Manager level within 12 to 18 Months.

The business is approaching £1Billion turnover and as such is big enough to provide excellent career trajectory whilst also giving full exposure across the complete P&L and daily interaction with the Senior Manager Team including CFO, CEO and Finance Director.

This is a newly created role, which has great scope to mark your mark and as such it is imperative that you are comfortable driving the agenda, presenting in front of senior management and operating in a dynamic and agile environment.

*The key focus will be to deliver improved on-going business reporting and analysis; supporting consolidation and improvement of internal analytics. This will include rigorous change and stakeholder management
*Support on-going month end and adhoc reporting and analysis; be willing to recommend and drive improvements in analysis; review and challenge commercial commentary as relevant
*Support forecast, budget and strategic planning processes; lead these when appropriate
*Articulate and demonstrate performance drivers, risks and opportunities using strategic financial analysis
*Deliver insightful commentary and analysis

Reporting and Analytics
*Support and help to drive a review of the current reporting landscape across the business and work with Finance Manager to scope areas for consolidation, improvement and step-change
*Review, analyse and explain monthly and quarterly performance providing clear, concise reporting of key messages for Senior Leadership and non-finance stakeholders
*Develop relevant and creative means of presenting management information to drive performance
*Actively business partner Directors of Finance & Senior Leadership Team to ensure agreed messages are delivered in a consistent way to deliver best in class reporting and analysis; ensure all analysis and insight is action biased
*Take detailed performance analysis and roll up to establish macro trends, providing relevant insight and challenge
*Consolidate and communicate margin impacts, ensure key factors are clearly explained and robustly challenged to drive appropriate actions
*Support development of profitability models to communicate gross profit effectively

Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
*Support management and communication of timetables for all annual planning activity
*Take shared leadership role in financial forecast, quarterly forecasts, budgets and strategic planning; sharing workload with Finance Manager as relevant
*Develop and manage models for long, medium- and short-term planning processes
*Communicate clear expectations of forecast, budget and planning deliverables to wider business.
*Produce presentation and management information to support understanding of plans, budgets and forecasts; robustly challenge and explain and variance to base plan; produce relevant insight and challenge of forecasts
*Ensure strategic and exec direction filters appropriately into actionable outputs

Project Work
*Implement system changes required to support best practice reporting
*Drive system changes and implementations to improve planning processes
