Job Description

Our client, a FTSE listed employer of choice that continues to attract and retain top talent due to its highly rewarding and progressive environment, is looking to bolster its Retail Finance Team by recruiting a charismatic and career-minded Senior Finance Analyst. The role has come about as a result of an internal move, which is reflective of this client's ability to rotate and develop those who seek to broaden their skill set and conquer new challenges.

The role manage and mentor 2 direct reports, incorporating end to end budgeting, reporting and complex stakeholder management. You will also be responsible for delivering challenge and insight to the Retail Leadership Team, which will aid decision making and ensure you become a visible member of the wider Commercial Finance Department.

Main duties include:
* Setting corporate and store level budgets
* Managing periodic accounts and maintaining tight cost control
* Providing updates for Retail Leadership Team and Investment Board
* Responsibility for the integrity of Corporate P&L and Balance Sheet as well as Retail Capex spend tracking
* Periodic performance and variance analysis
* Tracking risks and opportunities
* Preparing papers for key decision makers, summarising business plans
* Developing methodology and financial models to build budgets
* Coaching stakeholders to ensure understanding of performance and how lines are managed financially
* Developing and maintaining relationships with Procurement Team
* Providing challenge and recommendations to Central and Field based Senior Management
* Develop recommendations and action plans in conjunction with Regional Operations Managers to reduce financial risk
* Further develop the quality of analysis in order to better understand financial and non-financial performance, including identification and tracking of relevant KPIs

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a strong academic record and experience working in a fast-paced, blue chip environment, ideally gleaned in Retail/FMCG/Multi-Site hospitality. Previous management experience would also be highly advantageous.

You will need to show strong commercial awareness, be willing and able to challenge the status quo where necessary and seek performance improvement whenever possible. Aside from clear business partnering skills you must also be capable of developing strong financial controls and combine a strategic and analytical perspective with a pragmatic approach.
