Our Client, an ambitious, innovative and dynamic leading FTSE 250 brand name has an outstanding opportunity for a top calibre Senior Commercial Finance Manager. This is a critical and high-profile role leading a small team of Finance Managers within the one the key sales channels c£500m.

Reporting into the Commercial Finance Director and leading a team of 4 direct reports, the role will require hands-on involvement alongside a focus on leading, managing and developing your direct reports, while also partnering with a wide variety of finance and non-finance stakeholders.

The role has responsibility for the strategic and tactical business partnering of the Sales / Commercial Director to continuously improve and influence performance. In order to successfully achieve this the incumbent has responsibility for:

-Provide insight to the Sales leadership team on commercial and total business unit performance, including analysis against budget, forecast and prior year
-Through accurate and insightful reporting on a periodic basis, continually raise awareness of financial performance across the commercial teams. Ensure plans are in place to deliver and where possible exceed budget commitments
-Identify risks and opportunities to the commercial delivery of budget and then work with functional partners to ensure these are either mitigated or harvested
-Support the forecasting and budgeting process ensuring a robust, deliverable plan with clear risks & opportunities identified
-Protect the business by ensuring a high level of financial governance and control across all sales channel related investment (trade and capital spend)
-Work with business partners to construct and evaluate the value creation strategy for your channel, ensuring customer strategy and investment prioritisation is linked to our financial objectives
-Champion an ROI improvement culture of all channel investments, covering the full scope of promotion evaluation, customer terms & trade spend, pricing decisions, commercially driven capital spend, etc
-From the strategy through to budget and in year delivery process, identify value creation opportunities through margin, SKU and spend optimisation
-Support the evaluation and read across of Terms Proposals for the channel, including investment prioritisation, post reviews of investment to identify learning's and insights to improve effectiveness and returns from future investments.
-Challenge of commercial business partners in support of delivering the best short and long term result for the business
-Embedding of all Value Organisation activities into business as usual
-Proactively identify, develop and implement process improvements to drive value
-Ensure all commercial finance processes are fit for purpose, fully documented and understood by the commercial finance and customer management team
-Influence and lead forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring challenge and insight is applied into the development of plans for future value creation
-Champion of a strong governance and process adherence mind-set within the division
-Motivate and manage the Sales Finance team, ensuring they have clarity on roles and responsibilities, seek and provide feedback on performance in an open and honest way with all members of the team
-Supporting individual team members' personal development through effective coaching and regular one to ones
-As a senior finance manager, play a supporting role in the development of people across the whole Finance department, through development of culture, succession planning and coaching.
-Cover and ad-hoc support for the Director of Commercial Finance as required

The successful candidate will be a CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with significant PQE gained working within a Blue-Chip FMCG / Retail / Pharmaceutical business in a dynamic Commercial Finance environment with experience supporting Sales Channels. You will be on an upward career curve with aims to reach Director Level in 5-10 years. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to influence at all levels and have proven leadership skills (business partnering to Board level FD/COO/Sales Director) and team development skills.
