Job Description

Our client, a much-loved consumer brand, with an impressive global footprint, is looking to source an ambitious and astute Senior Commercial Analyst to join its team. This business operates a fun and fast-paced working environment, with lots of exciting strategy in the pipeline for 2020.

The successful candidate will likely come from a Retail/FMCG/Leisure background and demonstrate exceptional commercial awareness and business acumen. This is a really exciting opportunity for a talented individual to kick start their career in a business with regular recognises and rewards top performers, giving them a clear path for progression and development.

Key duties include:
* Provide regular sales reporting data on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, helping the business accurately forecast financial performance
* Measuring the impact that key propositions and pricing decisions on sales, margin and ROI
* Understanding the story behind the sales figures and translate this into forward looking narratives and forecasts which incorporate: new strategies, initiatives and promotional deals
* Leading and review modelling, reporting, analysis and forecasting to improve accuracy
* Monthly performance reporting and associated analytics (including comparison to latest forecast / budget)
* Partnering with Marketing and Sales Directors to support financial appraisals

Key skills & experience required:
* Previous experience within commercial finance, FP&A, commercial insight or Data Analytics is essential
* Previous experience of pricing would be highly advantageous
* Knowledge of data visualisation tools is desirable (Power BI, Tableau), but not essential
* Exposure to SQL, SAS, R or Python would be advantageous bit not essential
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a relevant quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or Economics)
* A strong analytical approach with excellent knowledge of Excel is essential
* A passion for data analysis and problem solving
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills
