Senior Financial Accountant- Permanent- Watford
55,000-65,000 + medical + bonus + benefits

Our client, an innovative and progressive business, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a pivotal role within their finance department. Working within the compliance department, this role will assist in ensuring that the strategic initiatives implemented by the organisation reach all compliance and reporting standards.

The role will involve some business partnering with other departments to ensure all considerations have been taken in relation to the financial reporting process and working particularly closely with the Legal and Regulation departments. Supporting the Financial Accounting Manager in ensuring that required reports are prepared and completed on time for submission for the regulator. The successful applicant will also have management responsibilities for one the compliance team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Understanding the specialist in-house system and the reports that this generates

- Producing accurate management information for senior management and third parties when applicable

- Liaising with other departments to ensure the highest level of compliance is being maintained

- Managing the period end process for one particular financial process within the business

- Advising on financial requirements necessary when making strategic business changes

- Developing, documenting and implementing accounting policies to ensure they meet all accounting standards and reporting requirements

The successful candidate will be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with strong technical skills, ideally acquired in a practice/audit background. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, with examples of your ability to articulate yourself and present financial information across an organisation.

A confident and assured individual, the successful candidate will have strong stakeholder management skills. Experience in implementing controls or assisting in the review of existing controls within former roles would be advantageous.
