Interim Procurement Manager
Watford, Hertfordshire
£65,000 - £90,000 depending on experience
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Procurement Manager to manage the company's supply of products and services.
This is a newly created role reporting to the CFO overseeing approx. £30M of non-staff spend on indirect costs across categories such as Facilities Management, IT, Insurance, Property and more. Applicants must have proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Head of Procurement with the ability to work strategically but also be comfortable working through the detail in a 'hands on' role. The role will initially be for 6 months although longer term prospects are a distinct possibility.
You will:
*Develop an appropriate procurement plan strategy for the business to find cost-effective deals and suppliers.
*Perform a benchmark review of all existing supplier contracts to identify savings opportunities.
*Design and implement "a fit for purpose" procurement policy and process for the business.
*Support/coach business budget holders with the procurement process and negotiating with suppliers.
*In conjunction with budget holders target and deliver real cost saving benefits via a planned procurement process including negotiation, tendering and cost avoidance etc.
*Target 10% reduction of non-staff annualised spend
*Devise and use beneficial sourcing strategies
*Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
*Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
*Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
*Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
*Examine and test existing contracts
*Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
*Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
*Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
*Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
*Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
*Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

You have
*Proven working experience as a Commercial Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement.
*Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market.
*Talent in negotiations and networking.
*Ability to build strong internal working relationships with existing budget holders.
*Also ability to strike the right balance between negotiating firmly with suppliers holding them to account whilst preserving and building business relationships and partnerships
*Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software.
*Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
*Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
*Strong leadership capabilities
