Job Description

Interim Finance Manager (3 Months)
£26 Per Hour
Remote Working

Vitae is delighted to be working with a Local Authority who are looking for an experienced finance professional to provide technical support to the finance team.

As Finance Manager you will ensure that expert financial advice is given to all Assistant Directors and service managers to enable the council to meet its ambitions.

Required Knowledge, skills and abilities:

* Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Local Government accounting practices and procedures including CiPFA Code, Treasury Management
* Extensive knowledge of Local Government Finance Technical matters
* Knowledge of company taxation
* Extensive knowledge of and ability to use IT (major spreadsheets, financial information systems) to enhance service delivery
* Evidence of ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports for presentation to senior managers and Members.
* The financial skills and knowledge to ensure the delivery of services within budget and in accordance with Financial Regulations and Contract Standing orders
* Understanding of the practical implications of Service Planning, Best Value, Continuous Improvement and Performance Management and experience in effecting these.
* A track record of delivering effective and responsive services through development and implementation of innovative approaches to service delivery
