Job Description

Our client, an international market leader with an unrivaled reputation for career progression, is looking to source a confident and highly credible Group Financial Controls Manager to join its talented team.

Given the complexity and listed status of the business, this is a hugely visible role within the organisation, ensuring compliance is at the top of the agenda and stakeholders are managed effectively to increase communication and ensure transparency of information on a global scale.

Currently there is appetite for a stronger control environment across this progressive, complex and diverse group, and this is being delivered through the roll out of an internationally-accepted enterprise risk management framework.

Main duties include:
* Perform annual programme of balance sheet and financial control reviews at businesses to ensure that balance sheets are correctly states and justified
* Support businesses to ensure the minimum controls are in place
* Test the operation of critical controls and/or review resting performed by local teams
* Building relationships with local team, which will require some travel to Europe
* Conduct financial reviews, prepare and analyse KPIs for smaller business units
* Assist in the preparation of reports to senior management
* Involvement in various ad hoc projects as required

Key skills & experience required:
* Qualified Accountant or Risk Management Professional with a strong proven academic record from a blue chip entity or top 20 practice
* Knowledge of large complex organisations, as well as smaller businesses and understanding of the differentials and factors that affect control issues for both
* Strong technical accounting skills (UKGAAP, IFRS)
* Ability to develop strong relationships and maintain credibility with a range of stakeholders
* Second language skill highly desired (particularly German or French)
* Proven track record operating in a fluid, evolving environment and experience of change projects is ideal
* Deadline driven, but still possess an eye for detail and accuracy
