Job Description
*Responsible for the production of the monthly Board pack and a complete set of MI to timetable including; sector performance, work winning, working capital, cash, trend analysis and financial commentary
*Providing analysis, insight & commentary to operations, GFC and GFD on financial / commercial issues
*Investigate and explain variances and prepare bridge between actual performance and budget / forecast
*Develop and own the overhead reporting and control - 'support and challenge' the sector commercial directors and department heads on overhead reporting & control
*Prepare quarterly External MI pack (with GFD) for circulation to bank, bond providers and others
*Production of quarterly, rolling forecasts in accordance with timetable including P&L, working capital and cash forecasts at both sector and company level
*Manage the annual budgeting process including cash, working capital and balance sheet
*In conjunction with GFC, develops suite of reports to track performance of individual contracts and provide early warning on potential issues at contract level
*In conjunction with GFC conduct contract reviews / audits as required - with focus on larger contracts
*Support GFC in ad hoc financial analysis - will be extensive and varied
*Monitor competitor performance to enable benchmarking of company's performance
*Ensure fully reconciled, 'penny perfect' balance sheet on a monthly basis - review and challenge finance team monthly
*Ensure timely, accurate and detailed month end accounts produced for JVs and investments
*Oversee accurate and timely allocation of shared costs, prelims etc.
*Preparation of fully compliant FRS102 standard financial statements
*Key contact for auditors at year-end
*Responsible for preparation of UK Corporation tax computations and supporting analyses
*Responsible for overseas tax reporting and compliance requirements
*Support payroll tax reporting (e.g. PSA, P11d, BIK, technical input of expenses manual)
*Support team and GFC with VAT queries and compliance
*Manage a small accounting team of 1
The ideal profile will be an ACA qualified accountant with at least two years industry experience. This is a role that will require sound technical accounting knowledge as well as the ability to business partner and drive change where necessary. As a result, candidates must possess outstanding communication skills and be comfortable liaising with finance and non-finance members of staff.
