Purpose of the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join this FTSE listed business. This is a highly analytical and commercial finance role that would suit someone with a genuine interest in commercial data analysis, science and insight.
Analysing pricing information for customers to ensure gross profits are aligned with business financial targets, the role will be a key player to ensure that the business processes continue to develop and enable continued commercial success within a fast moving environment. The role will work closely with the Senior Management team and give excellent exposure to future progression opportunities and development of the commercial insight team and insight capabilities.

The Role:
We are looking for a data-driven commercial financial analyst who has a proven track record of converting data into insight by drawing relevant conclusions to present clear customer insights and trends which can in turn be translated into commercial and business-critical decisions that drive revenue and margin.
As part of a newly created Customer & Propositions Insight team, you will be focused on furthering the business's understanding of customer behaviour and incorporating this insight into business strategies to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
Working with other customer insight functions including Sales Director, Brand Marketing and Promotion Managers you will support the financial and commercial appraisal of pricing initiatives and margin enhancement initiatives across Product/Customer mix, promotions and other projects.
Measuring the impact that key propositions and pricing decisions on sales, margin and ROI
Developing reporting and proposition-based deep dive analysis including building models to support commercial decision making
Mining the database to unearth useful insights around the customer to help answer wider business performance results
Provide regular sales reporting data on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, helping the business accurately forecast financial performance
Work closely with the BI teams to ensure the business develops and uses the most efficient, technical and advanced approaches to analyse accurate and relevant data to pull insight.

*Previous experience within commercial finance, FP&A, commercial insight or Data Analytics is essential
*Previous experience of pricing would be highly advantageous
*Knowledge of data visualisation tools is desirable (Power BI, Tableau), but not essential
*Exposure to SQL, SAS, R or Python would be advantageous bit not essential
*Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a relevant quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or Economics)
*A strong analytical approach with excellent knowledge of Excel is essential
*A passion for data analysis and problem solving
*Strong communication & interpersonal skills
