Job Description

Our client, a household brand name and highly sought-after employer of choice, is looking to source a confident and credible Assistant Financial Controller to join this top calibre team. This is a key role in the financial reporting and control team and will be responsible for the implementation and development of best in class systems, processes and controls.

You'll also work closely with the UK operational and commercial teams, understanding business results, consolidating and presenting to Senior Management. The client are anticipating the successful candidate performs this role for a maximum of 2 years before pursuing other opportunities internally, with a wide range of progression prospects available.

The role is ideally suited for an ACA with 2+ years PQE in industry, however ACCA/CIMA Qualified will also be considered with a highly relevant technical skill set.

Main duties include:
* Overseeing the accuracy of month end control and reporting
* Reviewing month end journals and financial statements
* Briefing the local teams on all financial reporting and controls matters
* Identifying and implementing new processes and controls
* Completing quarterly financial control framework submissions
* Supporting completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensuring accuracy of reported sales
* Ad hoc reporting and controls projects
* Motivating and leading 1 - 2 direct reports

Key skills & experience required:
* Qualified Accountant
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* Driven, with a desire to succeed
* Capable of working in a fast-paced, large company environment, ideally listed
* Track record of process improvement and change implementation
* Likeable and engaging character
* Possesses a positive and proactive approach to problem solving
