Job Description

Our client, an impressive global brand with Head Offices in St Albans are looking to source an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. The role will predominantly be working with the cash department however there will be an element of account payable work so experience in both would be preferred..

Key Responsibilities:
Cashier (80%)
- Upload weekly banking, sales, inventory - analyse and reconcile with Point of sale system
- Investigate differences with managers and train on correct procedures
- Putting on month end journals for period end reporting including missing supplier invoices and bank charges
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts at the end of the period
- Customer refunds (adhoc) - involves review of refunds requested to ensure no duplicates
- Weekly data upload for supplier payment runs, DD collection
- Ensuring that missed cash collections are documented and rescheduled with G4S
- Liaise with credit card providers when problems with information or querying chargebacks
- Processing customer service refunds and processing any incoming post
Accounts Payable (20%)
- Processing key supplier invoices (Marketing and Cost of Sales invoices)
- Review of payment run with Transactions Manager
- Quarterly Rent payments (TT and BACS)
- Allocation of TT payments for AP suppliers

This would suit a candidate with at least 2-3 years in a similar cash assistant role with experience in bank reconciliation, journal processing, and cash/card reconciliations. Intermediate Excel Skills (V-Lookup / Pivot Tables) will be essential.
