Finance Assistant - 6-Month Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Watford (Office-based with some flexibility)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (pro rata)
Start: ASAP

We're supporting a well-known global financial services business in Watford as they look to bring in an experienced Finance Assistant on an initial 6-month contract. While this is a fixed-term role to begin with, there's a strong possibility it could become permanent for the right person.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation and finance operations experience who's confident working across multiple entities and contributing to process improvements.

The role will involve:
* Reconciling intercompany balances and investigating discrepancies
* Clearing suspense accounts and chasing unreconciled items
* Supporting with PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) calculations
* Helping allocate balances accurately and efficiently
* Supporting compliance checks (Know Your Supplier)
* Managing supplier, broker and employee account setup
* Administering the bank portal and maintaining the payment rota
* Working closely with teams across Finance and Operations to meet deadlines
* Getting involved in ongoing process improvement projects

What they're looking for:
* 5+ years' experience in a finance or accounting support role
* AAT qualified or actively studying
* Strong reconciliation and finance admin experience (AP/AR knowledge useful)
* Comfortable with Excel and finance/accounting software
* A proactive and organised team player who enjoys problem-solving
* Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
