Senior Finance Business Partner
Hertfordshire (Hybrid Working Arrangement)
£60,000 - £70,000 + Generous Bonus

We are working exclusively with this employer of choice to source an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner who will work across both commercial and retail operations giving the role real breadth, visibility and opportunity to make a significant and tangible impact across the division.

This senior role provides essential business partnering across both commercial and operational functions.

Key Duties will include;
Commercial Insight

*Develop a detailed understanding of the operational drivers to highlight areas requiring course correction, identify on-going operational opportunities and risks and manage expectations with senior stakeholders.
*Understand key drivers for cost variances, manage the communication of risks and opportunities inherent within assumptions to senior stakeholders.
*Track performance of promotions.
*Understand the key metrics the business uses and, alongside the Commercial Trading teams identifying the key business levers that can be adjusted to meet key performance targets.

Business Case and Scenario Planning
*Develop and deliver financial investment appraisal and post implementation reviews to assure appropriate allocation of investment capital/revenue for operational areas of the business.
*Driving a cost-conscious culture into the Operations function, providing relevant ad-hoc analysis and insight to drive bottom line profit whilst maintaining customer experience.
*Developing strategic plans across retail operations.
*Modelling various operational models and business cases / scenario planning around sales, cost and margin.
*Develop a five-year strategy and plans to grow the profitability of the business. Provide the business case and forecast for presentation to the key stakeholders setting out planned outcomes.

Reporting & Insight
*Ownership, presentation and review of periodic reporting, providing insight from KPIs through accurate reporting and knowledge of operations.
*Challenging accuracy and robustness of existing reporting and continually develop reporting for new projects and business areas.
*Ensuring consistency across reporting and performance reviews.
*Developing key board packs and dashboards to measure performance and understand key business drivers.
*Reviewing the current annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes with the Commercial and Operational Teams, planning and implementing improvements.
*Helping drive a consistent and challenging monthly and quarterly performance review process with the Trading teams.

Business Partnering
*Support key divisional heads, providing advisory support to designated Business Partners around forecasting and managing spend.
*The role has a large element of relationship management so experience of supporting and influencing key stakeholders and driving value in planning and analytical support is crucial in making the position a success.
*As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be focused on supporting and challenging performance across Trading and Operations, achieved through process improvements across reporting, reviewing performance, forecasting, and budgeting.
*Support financial management of key projects, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, control and operations.
*Supporting key stakeholders with business case support and performance analysis.
*Proactively working with the members of the Commercial team, to help them improve knowledge, increase profitability and understand performance.

What we are looking for

*Qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA.
*Previous experience within a Retail, trading or FMCG environment is highly desirable.
*Previous experience of business partnering senior commercial / operational stakeholders.
*Advanced Excel skills. Ability to manipulate, present and assimilate data into commercial insight in a way which tells a story.
*Commercial astute with experience of influencing business decisions through analysis.
*Experience of scenario planning / modelling / supporting business cases including pre and post investment analysis / analysis of expected outcomes.
*Significant experience of budgeting / forecast and long-term planning.
*Naturally inquisitive with the ability to turn data in to insight
*Ability to work with operators to ensure reports are relevant, comparable and identify priority focus areas.
