Job Description
Main duties include:
* Identification, communication and managing the resolution of accounting issues including drafting of technical papers
* Liaison with and challenge to external auditors
* Drafting of audit committee papers
* Management of the production and control of all versions of accounts
* Provision of ad hoc accounting advice, e.g. acquisitions, disposals, provisions, impairment
* Liaison with tax, legal and audit
* Creation of accounting papers that consider technical and practical accounting from UK GAAP and IFRS perspective
* Accounting for adjusting items including analysis against major projects
* Accounting for provisions for onerous contracts including decisions on how to deal with specific long-term contracts
* Accounting for pensions, share based payments, financial instruments and earnings per share
Key skills & experience required:
* Qualified ACA or ACCA/CIMA if not in practice
* Strong IFRS and UKGAAP knowledge
* Excellent technical skills and reporting writing
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Confident liaising with senior stakeholders and adept at building relationships
* Proactive approach to problem solving
* Ambitious, self-starter
