Job Description
As a Management Accountant you will play a crucial role in the financial operations. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, management and financial reporting, and providing insightful support to the business. Your efforts will contribute to informed decision-making and maintaining robust financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management accounts.
* Collaborate with the Financial Controller to review Management Accounts, identifying risks and areas for investigation.
* Generate and assess monthly aged creditor, subcontract, and debtor reports, including work in progress and retentions.
* Allocate and recharge costs appropriately, ensuring accuracy.
* Manage opening and closing contracts in line with the contract life cycle.
* Maintain monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Assist in cashflow forecasting and year-end requirements.
* Process invoices and receipts to external parties accurately and on time.
* Provide analytical support, management information, and transaction reports related to expense ledger activities.
* Support the preparation and drafting of statutory accounts for year-end audit, liaising with the external audit team.
* Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems aligned with business needs.
* Assist in weekly, monthly reporting, and analysis.
* Complete Office of National Statistics surveys.
* Support the Financial Controller with additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills & experience required:
* Qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or Finalist
* Proficient in Excel
* Working knowledge of management accounting
* Familiarity with financial accounting and Balance Sheet preparation.
* Strong understanding of financial control requirements and audit implications.
