Job Description
Leading this unique business unit, the successful candidate will focus on accounting and analysis to support a high profile programme in its decision making to ensure accurate forecasting and delivery within budget. You'll work independently from the day to day operations of the wider business and be responsible for defining and delivering the vision and strategic objectives of the business unit, by leading the team, its functional strategy and delivery roadmap. Due to the visibility and exposure to senior stakeholders, it will be a great springboard into other areas of the business in future.
Main duties include:
* Managing the monthly review and challenge for the projects within the Programme, providing high level of analysis of performance, identifying risks and opportunities and driving cost efficiency initiatives
* Providing financial insight, analysis and reporting on project performance versus budget and forecasts
* Maintaining a register of cost risks and opportunities
* Managing budgeting and forecasting process, challenging Project teams to deliver a robust plan within the guidelines
* Evaluating business cases for investment decision, challenging assumptions and ensure compliance
* Driving a commercial focus and challenge to strategic planning and decision making within the programme business unit
* Coaching, mentoring and developing staff (team of 4)
Key skills & experience required:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
* Skilled at building relationships at a senior level with very strong ability to influence through gravitas and confidence
* Ability to operate in a changing and deadline driven environment
* Commercially astute, able to recognise risks and opportunities
* Proven track record, leading and developing teams
* Broad skills base in management accounting/FP&A/business partnering
