Job Description

Our client, a leading name in its specialist field with an impressive global footprint, is looking for a credible and technically strong Finance Manager to join its talented team. You'll be responsible for a team of 5 Qualified & Part-Qualified Accountants, reporting on financial performance and with oversight of the control environment. This is a great role for someone looking to bolster their skill set and leadership skills, with ambitions to become an FC/FD in future.

The role is based in Luton with hybrid working c 2 - 3 days in the office.

Main duties include:
* Accurate and timely reporting of month end numbers in the UK, with control over month end reporting timetable for EMEA
* Owning the accuracy of reporting monthly financial to Group
* Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Control over VAT treatment
* Oversight of half year and full year reporting
* Managing the statutory accounting process
* Identifying risks and opportunities within the control environment
* Supporting the FP&A team in generating budgets and forecasts and in analysing month end results
* Month end cashflow analysis
* Reviewing and approving monthly payroll
* Managing relationships with auditors
* Analyse and review existing processes, making recommendations where necessary
* Ad hoc projects

Key skills & experience required:
* Qualified Accountant
* IFRS experience
* A self-starter who demonstrates ownership of the tasks and objectives of the department
* Excellent analytical skills. Ability to interpret data to give the overall picture whilst checking for accuracy
* Proven experience in managing a team and ensuring a high level of engagement
* Proven ability to prioritise, manage expectations and work to tight deadlines
* Proven leadership and delegation skills
* Fast learner, able to apply skill set to new scenarios.
* Ability to clearly explain financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
* A clear risk focus with previous experience of implementing and reviewing internal controls
