Job Description
My client a leading local council within the wider Hertfordshire area are looking for a strong Finance manager with considerable Local Council experience for a 12 Month Fixed-Term contract. The Council prides itself on its strong budget control and this role will facilitate the continuous goal to maintain this tradition.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing financial advice based on development plans and modelling.
* Ownership of the budget including looking at short- and medium-term goals.
* Manage staff, including working on their continuous development
* Financial Reporting including forecasting to senior finance members etc.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience within the public sector. A key aspect will be management, so some management in previous roles is required.
The Council in return will provide proven progression opportunities with a senior leadership team who have led the way in budgetary control.
