Finance Manager - Retail
£50,000 - £55,000 + Generous Bonus + Benefits

Vitae Financial Recruitment are partnering exclusively with this market leading PE backed leisure business during a period of impressive investment and growth as the business continues to grow market share.

We are seeking an ambitious Qualified Financial Analyst to manage a small team that provides financial analysis and commercial support to the Senior Retail Operations Teams. The retail division has exciting investment and growth plans over the next 5 years and this role will play a pivotal part in supporting the leadership teams, with the purpose of providing information, analysis and insight to improve the financial performance and support growth. The role would suit a senior commercial financial analyst seeking and business partnering role with staff responsibility.

Main duties will include:
*Key business partner for Retail Operations.
*Assisting the FD and HOD with all financial queries.
*Provide reporting, analysis and insight.
*Detailed sales information, by day, week, month etc
*Yield management and control
*Analyse and help manage main KPI's
*Reporting and communicating variance to targets
*Margin - including margin reconciliation, management, wastage and efficiency
*Labour cost reporting and monitoring of cost by department
*Provide trend and performance updates for the operations and finance teams.
*Other P&L cost control
*Assist and Co-ordinate the related budgets and forecasts, working with the Head of Finance, HoDs and other area experts
*Support other areas relating to retail including capex appraisals pre & post completion
*Support the HoDs with the development of the strategic plans for retail through robust analysis, discussion and challenge.
*Assist the internal audit functions to ensure robust controls are in place for both cash and stock
*Assist in any new systems the business may look to deploy for your departments
*Project work around - Sales/Revenue, Margin management, labour costs and Capex

What we are looking for:

*Previous experience of Retail or FMCG would be an advantage.
*An understanding of retail operations i.e. sales and promotional analysis, margin analysis and labour efficiency initiatives desirable.
*Experience of working in a multi-site environment desirable.
*Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
*You will be used to working as an analyst providing in depth commercial insight with a good basic grasp of financial control and management reporting. You will be comfortable dealing with large amounts of data and be able to turn this into useful management information. Also, happy talking and communicating to non-financial people.
*Strong interpersonal skills required - able to work with team members at all levels from Board to frontline and the ability to communicate sometimes complex information into bite size chunks and trends to a variety of stakeholders.
*Ability to build relationships across finance and operational teams.
*As passion for getting out into the business and business partnering.
