Accounts Assistant - Study Support
Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Circa £22,000 + Study Support

We have a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or finance assistant to join this leading international business. The role would suit an accounting graduate or maybe someone currently working in a finance department that is seeking an opportunity to study toward to professional accounting qualification within a business that offer excellent career progression opportunities and award winning training and development.

You will be joining a great team with lots to do and learn, with study support available for your ongoing professional development. This permanent role will operate on a hybrid basis, with at least two days per week based onsite.

Role:

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance function in maintaining accurate records of financial position and performance, playing a vital role in ensuring key financial management duties are performed including the allocation of costs, reconciliation of balance sheets accruals and prepayments, and the preparation, review and distribution of reports to the key business stakeholders.
*Support the preparation and posting of allocation journals to the GL across multiple companies
*Assist in the production and distribution of standard finance reports
*Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for review
*Provide clerical and technical support to the Finance team.
*Develop a thorough familiarity with financial reporting systems and procedures
*Assist the team and budget holders with finance-related queries
*Liaise effectively with other departments to acquire relevant information
*Prepare tailored ad hoc financial and management reports
*To assist in other ad hoc tasks as required
*Proactively identify areas for improvement and contribute towards a culture of continuous improvement
*Attend and contribute to management/department meetings where required

What we are looking for:
*Ideally you will have some experience working in a Finance Team
*You will be looking to study towards a professional accounting qualification
*Possess a logical and analytical approach, with excellent attention to detail and a good level of numeracy and IT skills (MS Excel is essential)
*Strong organisational and time management capabilities
*Exceptional customer service skills alongside strong written and verbal communication skills
*Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to and build positive relationships at all levels
